In the middle of the swap now and I left out an important detail before. My car was originally a i with factory manual steering. The new rack is mounted and the knuckle piece is way too long, unfortunately. Also, the factory pinion on the manual rack is much smaller diameter than the z3 pinion.

I am looking for an "off the rack" lightweight manual steering rack Z3 rack swap I did on my E30 (I left it powered) was transformative. Anyone know the turn to turn ratio on this one? Hopefully lower than the e30 manual rack.. Why not just use a regular e36 m3 or z3 power.
