E30 manual window conversion

Another perk to having manual crank windows is being able to operate them without the car being on, can't tell you how many times I turn my e30 off only to have to put my key back in and turn it back on so somebody can put their window up (4 door) Shawn @ Bimmerbuddies. Unless your car is completly gutted and you are trying to get every last ounce out of the car I'm sure you can find a better way to shave weight than going to non-power windows. Sorry to be a wet blanket but I wouldn't attempt the power window conversion, there's a lot you'd have to get right to end up with a better arrangement than the crank windows. Joined . ·. 27 Posts. We long ago eliminated the heavy, unreliable power windows on our i, but with the new rally cage in place, it's nearly impossible to use the hand cranks .

I've got rusty doors fitted with manual winders on the car, and at least one or two of the good replacement doors have electric lifts. What do i need to convert my E30 to window cranking?
